Challenge Card

Well as promised here is my card I created for the challenge I am hosting over at In Love With Stamping.

The challenge is to create something using the following Stampin' Up! colours.

Close to Cocoa
Bashful Blue
Certainly Celery

I am quite pleased at how my card turned out using these colours. The flowers are from the Heartfelt Hostess level 3 set and I have used the Poppin' Pastels technique. This is so easy to do and I think it gives this flower a lovely smoky look to it.

This is a first....

Today I have used buttons on a card for the first time ever.....

While blog hopping I often see buttons on other peoples cards and love what I see, but I never seem to think about putting them on my own! Until today....
I am back using my favourite stamp set 'Wild about you'. I just love this set and find myself using it so often. Todays card is using the colours Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose. The buttons and the twine are some I found while sorting out my crafting stuff. They are not Stampin' Up! but match the pinks just right. I also found some Glossy Accents, which I hadn't used before. I decided to try and make a homemade brad for the middle of the sentiment. I punched out a small circle and stamped the small flower onto it from the stamp set. Glossy Accents was then dabbed over the circle to make a dome over the image and left to dry. The result is a circle that looks like the designer brads you can buy. I have taken about 15 photo's of this card to try and show you this brad in more detail, but just can't get it to show up. Sorry. But give it a go yourselves, I am sure you will pleased with the results.

I made another card today, but that is for the challenge on Thursday over at In Love With Stamping which I am hosting this week. So I am afraid you will have to wait until Thursday for that one.........

Update on Cabin....

Allot of people have been asking for a peek inside the cabin. I have had to wait for Hubby to kit it all out with cupboards. Then it needed two coats of sealer inside before the carpet was laid. Then I decided I wanted more cupboards so hubby had to add more this weekend. So for all you peeps who have been waiting patiently here it is.....

Hubby still has to connect power into the cabin, otherwise it's ready to go.... but boy has it been hot inside there the past couple of days...so not much crafting has taken place, but lots of sorting out of craft items.

A Scrapbook page...

Now believe it or not I also scrapbook!! but since becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator back in February, I have tended to concentrate on card making, so I am ashamed to say I haven't produced a page since Feb........... until today.
Over at In Love With Stamping there are weekly challenges and Michelle has a Scrapbook challenge today. Her challenge is to get those circle punches out and create a page using circles. I just couldn't resist doing this. While tidying up and moving my craft stuff into my cabin, I came across my sons school photo's. All waiting to be scrapbooked!!! Well I thought Michelle's challenge just suited the school photo. So here is my creation........

I used some scraps from the Stampin' Up! Primary Colors Simply Scrapping kit along with lots of card stock from the Bold brights colour family. Loads of different sized circles layered on top of each other with a Gold brad in holding them together. The circle layers have then been layered onto the page. I really enjoyed doing this challenge and may just have the scrap booking bug back..........

Teachers gifts...

Well the school breaks up for the summer holidays next Tuesday, so today I have been making teacher Gifts. I made these little boxes and filled them with Roses chocolates. Yummy Yum !!

But when I showed my DS them, he announces that his teacher doesn't want chocolates. What!!!. My first reaction was, well she is getting chocolates or nothing. But then when I thought about it, perhaps she couldn't eat chocs, so decided to make some small 3x3 thank you cards to match the box.

The little box was made from instructions from the UStamp site here. Mine is in Real Red card stock. The band around the box is Whisper White card, stamped with the Spot On jumbo roller in Real Red ink. Real Red ribbon is tied around. The box is finished off with sentiment from Circle of Friendship set stamped in Real Red onto White card, punched out then layered onto a scallop of Real Red card.
The little 3x3 notelets have been made with the same materials as the box, so they all match nicely.

I have been busy making other things today as well, but the light turned so bad because of the rain we have, I couldn't photograph them. Hopefully I will be able to get some tomorrow.

Congratulations........

To Monica over at My Many Many Passions, who has won a place on the UStamp dream team. Monica is my upline for Stampin' Up! and I am so pleased for her. So pleased that I made this card to send to congratulate her. Hope you like it Monica.

This card is also for the new Color Combo challenge over at In Love With Stamping. The challenge Colours this week are, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and Real Red. I am afraid I went mad with this card and have used 4 different stamp sets no less.
The card base is Chocolate Chip which has been stamped with the Polka Dot Background stamp in Chocolate Chip ink. Then I stamped a panel of Creamy Caramel card with the CONGRATULATIONS sentiment from the Cheers and Wishes set and the Polka Dot background with Chocolate Chip ink. Chocolate Chip ribbon was tied around the panel before adhering the panel to base card. I then stamped the My Dear Friend sentiment from the Occasional Greetings set onto Very vanilla card using Chocolate Chip ink and layered onto Real Red card. The flowers are from the Two Cute set and are stamped in Real Red ink onto Very Vanilla card and have a Red Circle Rinestone brad in the centre.

Andy Warhol’s Four Monkeys Inspired

One of the challenges over at In Love With Stamping is to create something using the Andy Warhol's Four Monkeys as inspiration. This is what I came up with......... except mine are Lions not Monkeys LOL...

I used the Wild About You stamp set, which I have to admit is my favourite at the moment. The colours used are Green Galore, Real Red, Brilliant Blue and Only Orange.
Very quick and simple to make but I love it. I was going to put a sentiment in the middle of the card, but have decided to leave it blank, because I think it would make an ideal toddler birthday card, and having the number of the birthday would finish the card off just right.

Challenge Card

This is my card for challenge 9 at In Love With Stamping. I am on the challenges team for this forum and my challenge was to use the colours Mellow Moss, Perfect Plum and Whisper White.

This is what I came up with. The base card is Mellow Moss, which has been stamped with the Watercolor Vine stampin' Around stamp using Mellow Moss ink. I stamped the Watercolor Vine again onto the Whisper White card then layered that onto Perfect Plum. I paper pricked top and bottom, then layered onto the base card. The flowers have been punched using the Three for You punch out of Perfect Plum card then placed randomly onto the vine. Each flower has a small plum coloured bead in the centre.

Come on over to the forum and check out the other challenges or take a look at the gallery, there's loads of inspiration there.

Can't wait until September

Now I stalk a lot of blogs!! I spend far too much time doing this but I do find some wonderful creative people. One of my favourites is Heather Summers, from Canada. I just love this woman's work! Anyway She and Dawn Rapas (another talented lady) are doing some online classes. Starting on 8th and continuing throughout September. For a special price of $20 (up to the end of July, then the price is $25) you get at least 10 amazing projects. Now both Heather and Dawn are Stampin' Up! Demonstrators and their classes will be showing casing stamps from the new Catalogue about to be released in Canada and the US. I am afraid their catalogue and the UK catalogue are very different and Stampin' Up! rules are that Demo's are unable to sell outside their demo countries, but I am still going to join in with the classes and use UK current stamps instead.

If you link onto the Blinkie on the right of my blog, it will take you to the UStamp site where you can view all the details and register. Anyone can join in. You don't have to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator or have Stampin' Up! stamps! All you need is paper, a paper cutter, adhesive and stamps!

If you decide to join in, please leave me a comment, I would love to know who else is doing the classes. I can then check out your blogs. :-)

Why I havn't been Blogging!

Well it is here at last........My wonderful Hubby has allowed me to spend some of my redundancy money on a Log Cabin to do my crafting in. (I think he is fed up with me taking over the dining room, some of the living room and bedroom with my stuff). It arrived last friday and I have been spending all available time painting on treatment outside and in!!! My arm doesn't half ache.
Here are some photos of it.

I am now finishing off painting inside. The carpet fitter is coming tomorrow and then I should be able to start to move my stash into it's new home.

Hope to be back crafting very soon.
