Stampin' Around...

That's what I have been doing today and produced this along with making a couple of cards for people who have birthdays next week. I will share those after the birthday events in case they are seen by the Birthday girls before the day. LOL

Now I have had my Stampin' around wheel and this 'Spot On' stamp for a while, but not got around to using it until today. Boy is this fun. It is such an easy and quick way to stamp a large area of paper. I started off just doing one strip and used an Ink Pad to ink up the stamp, by just rolling it over and over the pad. This technique allows you to use any colour ink you wish, but you will only get a good print on one revolution of the wheel. The pattern then fades. It is more than enough though to create a panel like I created here.

The colour I used on this card is Lovely Lilac. This was used for the Base card and I used this colour ink to stamp the 'Spot On' Panel onto Whisper White card. This was then trimmed to fit the card and layered onto Elegant Eggplant card. Before attaching to the base card I pricked along each of the long sides. (Not showing up in the photo very well) the flower is from the Polka dots & Paisley set and was stamped in Lovely Lilac onto the whisper white card, layered onto Elegant Eggplant then again pricked on the top corners, using the template from the Crafters Tool Kit. Some Elegant Eggplant ribbon tied around the bottom of the panel, before attaching onto the card, with Dimensionals.

I am now off to do the ironing..........Ooh Hate that job! Much rather be stamping......LOL

This weeks SCS Challenge #SC169

I'm having a few days off work at the moment. The weather is still bad, so making the most of being at home and making cards. Wednesday is Card Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. Now normally I don't get to do this until the weekend, but as I am at home I can do it today. Here is the Sketch..............

One of the rules for this sketch was, that panel 4 must be no wider than 1.5" wide! Now I had a few problems with this! A lot of my stamps are wider than this, so I had to turn to my Hostess set 'Oh, So Lovely'. I had already made three cards earlier using this stamp and Oh! dear the same colour combination. Well it is my favourite at the moment LOL. Here is my card.....

Now off to make some more cards, I have two lovely people with Birthdays begining next week that I need to create something special for................

Back Soon.........Thanks for looking X

Three Card Challenge

I thought I would set myself a challenge........... to stamp an identical image three times and make 3 different cards.

I decided to use one of my new Hostess sets Oh, So Lovely. I stamped the background image with Close to Cocoa ink onto Very Vanilla card. Then stamped the Poppy flower on top using Basic Black. I coloured the Poppy using 'Stampin' Write Markers' in Real Red, Pumpkin Pie & Mellow Moss. I then cut this out leaving a small border of the Very Vanilla all around.

Here is what I come up with.............

Ingredients used in these cards:-

Stamps:- Oh, So Lovely, Sincere Salutations

Card Stock:- Close To Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Mellow Moss

Accessories:- Prints Designer Series Paper, Red Rhinestone Brads, 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon in Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon

Polka Dots & Paisleys..

Today's card is another simple design card. This is my natural style, and one I am most comfortable with. LOL. I am gradually building up a display of cards that I can take to workshops and show people, that beautiful cards can be made, with simple stamping techniques and just about anyone can make one.

I have cut a A4 piece of Pink Passion card stock in half then folded that in half to make the base of the card. This has been stamped all over with the paisley stamp from the Polka Dots and Paisley set, in Pink Passion ink. A strip of Green Galore card stock has then been stamped with the sentiment 'Birthday Wishes' from the Sincere Salutations stamp set, in Basic Black, positioning it with the Stamp-a-ma-jig, so I got it just where I wanted it. This piece of equipment is just a gem. I wouldn't be without it.

The next stage was to do the paper-piercing along each edge of the Green galore strip. I used the template and tool from the Crafters Tool kit. This template made it so easy to keep in a straight line. The Green Galore strip was then attached half way down the card.

I then stamped the little flower image, using Pink Passion on the flowers, then Green Galore on the stem, and stamped the image twice, just altering the angle slightly onto Whisper White card stock. Again using the Paper Piercing template I pierced a corner design in the top right and bottom left corners. The stamped image was then layered onto Pink Passion card stock, then Green Galore card stock, then placed over the Green Galore strip, showing the sentiment to the left.

Big Bold Birthday

This card is made using the Big Bold Birthday set of stamps. I love these colours together, it reminds me of Chocolate and toffee Yum Yum. For the card I have used Apricot Appeal cardstock, with a layer of paper from the Close to Cocoa Prints Designer Series Paper. This is double sided paper, and is just fab, the problem you have is choosing which design to use, because thay are all so pretty. On top of the paper, I have layered Apricot Appeal card, then Close to Cocoa card on top of that, with Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon tied in a bow around that layer and placed a small fold of ribbon at the top of the card, before attaching to the main card. I then stamped the base and candles of the cupcake in Apricot Appeal ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and the cupcake topping out in Barely Banana, and inked the spots ontop in Apricot Appeal. These have been cut out, then layered onto the card.

Another quick and simple card, that can be made in so many colour combinations.

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #38

I have been lurking over at Beate's blog for weeks now. She is so so talented, I just love her creations. Anyway, I have taken the plunge and made this card from her Sketch challenge #38. The stamp is from the Heartfelt set, which here in the UK is a Hostess Level 3 set. The image is Bashful Blue stamped over with Ballet Blue onto Whisper White card stock, which is edged with Brocade Blue card stock. The Base card is Whisper White & Brocade Blue. Apricot Appeal card has been stamped with the Polka dot background stamp, with Apricot Appeal Ink. This has been cut into 4 squares and placed on top of the Brocade Blue panel. Image has then been centred onto the card. A quick and simple card.

Saturday, 8 March 2008

I have been doing some 2-step stampin on this card. I just love this colour. The stamps are from the Heartfelt set. This is one of the sets that only Hostesses can earn by having a workshop. (terms and conditions required)

The base of my card has been made by cutting a sheet of Regal Rose card stock in half, then folded in half. The patterned paper is from the Rose Red Prints Designer Series Paper. I cut a small strip of Bravo Burgundy with my scalloped scissors to place along the bottom of the patterned paper. The base stamp is stamped with Rose Red ink onto Whisper White card stock, then the second stamp, inked with Bravo Burgundy, was lined up over the first image using the Stamp-a-ma-jig. This a fabulous tool, that gets your overlay stamp in the correct place every time. The images was punched out using the 1 3/8" circle punch and placed onto a scallop of Bravo Burgundy card stock. Lastly I stamped the 'Thanks' sentiment onto the card with Regal Rose ink.

Thanks for looking.

I Also Made a Pink one..........

As the blue card is now in the post, off to it's new home, I thought I would make a pink version. This one I am keeping for my display board to take to workshops, to show the sort of thing you can make with these fab Stampin' Up! stamps. The image this time has been watercoloured in using the Pretty in Pink Watercolour Wonder crayons. The card is made from an A4 piece of Blush Blossom cardstock, cut lenghways then folded. This has been stamped with the Polka Dot background stamp with Pretty in Pink ink. The image is mounted onto Night of Navy cardstock then onto Pretty in Pink card, which has been torn at the bottom and white grosgrain ribbon tied into a bow just under the image. The circular 'congratulations' greeting is from the Circle of Friendship set of stamps stamped onto Whisper White cardstock in Basic Black then placed onto a circle of Pretty in Pink card and placed onto the bottom corner of the card.

Baby Card

Had news yesterday that some friends have just had a baby boy, so I have made a card for them. I have used the Elephant from the Year after Year set. These stamps cover all occasions and are so versatile. The image was stamped with black StazOn and water coloured using Bashful Blue from the Soft Subtles colour family with the Watercolour Wonder Crayons. The card is made from an A4 piece of Bashful Blue cardstock, cut lenghways then folded. This has been stamped with the Polka Dot background stamp with Bashful Blue ink. (Just love this background stamp, I can see it is going to be used allot on my cards!) The image is placed onto Barely Banana cardstock then onto Brocade Blue card, which has been torn at the bottom and white grosgrain ribbon tied into a bow just under the image. The circular 'congratulations' greeting is from the Circle of Friendship set of stamps stamped onto Barely Banana cardstock in Basic Black then placed onto a circle of Brocade Blue and placed onto the bottom corner of the card.
